Week 3/ February 2-8

         During this week, there was no class session due to the seminar that all SOE teacher's had to attend. Although there was no class, we were assigned to explore the different sites of crosswords puzzles posted on NMC online. As a future teacher in training, I appreciate learning about these different sites because crossword puzzles are GREAT activities that can be implemented in the classroom, and besides children love puzzles! I would use the Discovery Education Puzzle Maker because it is user friendly for any type of age. Puzzles can be integrated into different subject areas like spelling, language arts, history, and so forth! Puzzles is a FUN activity and can also be a great warm-up activity. I would rate this type of software an 8 because it's easy to use and is a convenient tool in making puzzles!

Week 2

For week 2, Mr. Jenkins assigned the class to each attach a blank piece of paper on our backs. Students were expected to write one adjective about their classmate. A nice objective!  Basically, this was the perfect ice breaker activity to mingle with my classmates. The tricky part, I don't know what my classmates are saying about me, until I was able to look at the paper attached to my back. Overall, I loved this activity because it builds self-esteem and it's a fun way to get to know my peers!

Week 1

For week 1, our first assignment was to create a timeline of all the important events that occurred in my life. Mr. Jenkins introduced the class to a site called teach_nology.com, where we created our timeline. After completing our timeline online, we had to print it & present it to the whole class.
This assignment was helpful to me as  a future a future teacher because students have fun learning when they are working with technology. This is the perfect assignment for teacher's to get to know their students and have a little understanding of their background.
Other assignments that can be used for this site is a history project. A student can create a timeline of presidents or a timeline of all the wars the took place. Overall, I would rate this software a 10 because it was easy to use & the settings were simple. In other words, it was easy to create a timeline with just a click here and there.
