This was a fun assignment because we had to make an “infomercial”
about any invention in technology. The commercial had to be filmed and acted
out into a commercial format. To edit our commercials, we used the I-moive,
instead of using the regular windows media maker. I have used I-movie before,
but the features have changed since then and I love the different effects. For
example, in our commercial we used the slow motion effect and audio effect,
which made our commercial entertaining. Although I got to admit I’m not really
a fan of the Mac because the features are a lot more complicating. But the flip
cam on the other hand is a great technology to invest in, it’s not only
portable but there are additional features added to it. Overall, I enjoyed this
assignment because we got to reveal our creative sides.

Quiz & Rubric Software
In class, we created our own quizzes using the quiz-making
software QuizYourFriends.com. We had to choose between two topics: cats and the
sun. After reading the article on cats, I created a quiz using the software, and
then had my classmate answer the quiz. I
like this software because it was user friendly and the directions are easy to
understand. I have never used this website, but it is a great tool I could use
in the classroom to integrate technology.

Pixton
This is my first time to use Pixton and I had so much fun using this software! The idea of my comic is promoting technology into the classroom, using the famous Kindle. I would definitely use this software again in the classroom and incorporate it into other subjects likes history and language arts. Students can create an educational pixton comic book or a history comic.
Web Quest
1)Talk about the project concept and/ or how you chose the topic for this project.
*The title of our Web Quest project is Nutrition: Are you what you eat? With a partner, Rayray and I decided to integrate the topics health and science, mainly the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods.
2) Why did you choose this topic? What is the learning outcome or purpose of your Web Quest? *It is important to know the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods because it is essential to practice healthy living. There are some students who don’t practice healthy eating habits at home and that is why it is important to model healthy habits at school. At the end of this lesson, students should be able to tell the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods.
3) In what way will this Web Quest improve your students learning?
*Web quest will improve student learning because its hand’s on and interactive! Integrating technology into a lesson plan is a great strategy, especially today since technology has made a big impact on student learning. Using Web Quest students are able to share their information with the world and view other students projects as well. The best part about Web Quest is the access of allowing to videos, links, and other resources.
4) What did you think was the most important lesson you learned from this activity?
*From this assignment, I learned the importance of technology in the classroom. If technology is being used appropriately in the classroom, students will demonstrate interest in participating in the learning process, whereas teaching in the traditional classroom ways. The Zunal Web Quest is the perfect recommended resource to maximize student learning.
5) What did you like or dislike about the software or web-based online tool you used?
*So far, there is nothing I dislike about the Zunal Web Quest software, but I do like the idea of the accessibility to other people’s work. To add, it is free and interactive!
6) What would you do differently next time you do this activity and/or use this tool?
* I would use more resources, besides the Google and you tube. I would also add more picture and fun facts about my topic.
Using Blogs in the K-12 Curriculum
Write up your FINAL PRESENTATION
A) Briefly describe your presentation and which software did you used?
* For this presentation, I was paired up with Kayla and our topic chosen was Using Web-Logs/Blogs in the K-12 Curriculum. We both decided to use the slideshare software, compare to the Prezi software because it was a lot more user friendly to work with.
B) On a scale of 1-10, how do you think you did?
*From a scale of 1-10, I would would rate our presentation an 8 because we did hit all the key requirements that were presented on the rubric. Although all the information was there, I feel that the overall product could have been better.
C)If you had to do it again, what would you do differently and why?
*If I had one more chance to do it again, I would use the Prezi software because it's way more interactive compared to the slideshare. Many of the features on Prezi are not presented on Slideshare. First hand experience using the Prezi, I had a hard time placing my information on the slides because the zooming in and out was bothering me. With a good amount of time, I would familiarize myself with Prezi and use it for my final presentation.
D)Describe your experience using the given software? was it user friendly? Would you use it again? *I enjoyed using the Slideshare software because it was very user friendly. I found it useful to have access to other people's presentation, in a variety of topics too. I would use it again to share my presentation to the world, but I would rather prefer using the Prezi software because I love the features on it.
C)How would you use this in your future classroom?
*I would use the slideshare to allow my students to share their presentation's with the world or even suggest it as a resource. As a teacher, I would use the Prezi software to present information to my class. I'm sure it will get them excited! I don't think the Prezi software is using friendly for 4th graders, but I would highly recommend this software to age appropriate students!
